Yaki Burnt Floor Lamp is designed to evoke the feeling of a late-night blues jam. Using the ancient Japanese yakisugi wood-burning technique and raw copper, it gives the room a soft fire-like glimmer and atmosphere.

We're using an ancient Japanese wood charring method Yakisugi.

Also known as shou sugi ban, the wood charring was first taken into use in tiny Japanese villages as burnt houses were found to be more fire resistant than others. We adore the material's resistance to time and bold aesthetics.

0. Is it real wood?

Yes. It's a real regional wood that we source and burn by ourselves. We use regional pine that's treated to last a lifetime.

1. Does the charred surface stain or brake?

No. We protect it with 5 layers of special wax so it does not stain nor break, while preserving its natural burnt looks.

2. Does it smell like burnt wood?

No. The smell from burning fades after a few days during the creation process. When the lamp arrives to you it does not have any smell.

3. How much light does it give?

In the dark the piece gives the room a soft warm glimmer. The metal panes reflect from each other and create a pattern of light rays to the ceiling and walls. Think of it like a mood light or an accent lamp.

4. Won't the metal go green or get stained?

We coat the metal with varnish so it does not react to fingerprints. It changes the tone very slowly over the years but does not turn green or oxidize.

5. How long does the order take?

Depending of our current stock status and production queue it's 1-4 weeks (let us know if you're in a hurry). All of our pieces take 3 weeks of crafting.

6. Do you give a guarantee?

Yes. We give a lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects and material integrity of the body- the wood and metal construction. Electrical components including the cable and socket are standard replaceable parts and are covered by a 2 year guarantee. We put a maximum attention and care into each piece to make it to last a lifetime and over generations.

7. What if something happens during delivery?

If the lamp arrives to you damaged we take the full responsibility to compensate the situation.

8. How do I know you are legitimate business?

We're registered in the Estonian Business Registry and are regulated by the Estonian and European law. With any complaint it's possible to turn toward Estonian Consumer Protection Authority. We use only formal verified payment methods for your and our security. We have customers across Europe and beyond and we're always up to have face to face video call or carry out any other procedure that makes you feel safe.
